Time goes by so fast. I look at the calendar, and boom, August is nearly upon us. That means we are entering week 30, or the 8th month of pregnancy. I cannot believe we only have 2 months to go before Baby Lucky is here. That is just August and September. And when that calendar flips to the first week in October, an amazing life event is going to happen.
After my last (sorry to say somber) blog post, I felt the need to perk myself up. So, Matty took me blueberry picking and we spent the day together. I have to admit, I felt so good, so happy and so pretty for those few hours in the sun. Sometimes it just take a change in your perspective to make it all better.
I took time to paint the closet. I still need to finish up the white areas and the few spots I dripped blue paint, and then complete the floor, but that should take no more than an hour or two this weekend.
I have to consider getting our carseat soon, as I should have had that already. We picked out the lightest, safest one we could find, that would still fit in my jeep. (Read: small quarters!) The Maxi Cosi seems to have hit the spot. For those new Moms to be out there, consider it, I'll link it HERE. I love the brown and the orange and the blue bohemian colors they offer and the modern look. Sure beats some of those huge ones out there that won't even begin to squeeze in the Wrangler. The problem will be making the decision of the color I really want!
Symptoms this week? Well baby is still up in my ribs and meal sizes are shrinking dramatically. I can't eat nearly as much since my stomach is all squished into my lungs. It's very hard to avoid morning nausea if I eat more than a bowl of cereal. I crave water more than anything and feel that the baby has slowed on a growth spurt for now. Our next Midwife appointment is in 5 days, and I have a bunch of questions for her.
I also got my blood and urine results back, and all good news. I do not have Gestational Diabetes! YAYYY!!! and I am still slowly declining in hematocrit/hemoglobin meaning that I am progressively getting more anemic as the trimester goes on. It is somewhat normal to experience this in pregnancy but even more common in vegetarian diets like I consume. I have tried to increase fish, chicken and beans...but my levels still dropped by 0.5. Its okay, only 2 more months and I should return to normal. It only makes me more fatigued than I should be, but that could just be the lack of sleep I get anyways from not being able to get comfy in bed with this big ol' belly hanging out there!
I hope you enjoy the pictures and I plan to have more of the nursery put together by this weekend. Hope you all are well. Much love :)
